Article Dashboard Directory Site List

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

There are hundreds of article directories out there, and it's very useful to have a current list. So here is one at LittleFish Web Hosting!

If you would like free article submission software that will automatically setup accounts with all these directories, just click the link and save the zip file! Please note that this is a PHP script that requires a MySQL database. There are instructions included, but if you would rather have LittleFish install it, we charge just £5. If for any reason the script installation fails, we'll even refund the money. Can't say fairer than that!

Article Directory Websites

Monday, September 25, 2006

If you have seen any Internet marketing advice or website promotion advice recently, you'll know the value of writing articles and submitting them to various directories. Doing this has many advantages including; setting yourself up as an expert in your chosen field and gaining backlinks to your website through links in the author resource box.

However, have you thought about where all those articles go? Many article directory owners make a reasonable online income through publishing these articles on their website. By placing AdSense adverts and other affiliate adverts on their site, and through proper website promotion, you can make money.

We have recently launched a range of both niche and general article directory websites on eBay. Most article directory sellers on eBay sell just the script and expect you to do it all yourself. However, the LittleFish Web Design article directory sites include a domain name, hosting and are setup for articles to be automatically added ready for you to approve.

We have made alterations to the script to encourage better search engine and visitor access. It's not the 'just out of the box' version. Our extra features include AdSense, a realtime sitemap, translation services for visitors to the site and better security than standard. Currently the search box is linked into AdSense, and there are two AdSense areas - one in the right hand navigation bar, and one in the articles. In addition, there is a favicon - that's the little icon that appears next to the web address in your browser address bar, and when you have added the website to your favorites or bookmarks - to help your site stand out.

After the auction ends, you will be given help in customising and making money from the site. If you do need to move to a larger server to accomodate the growth of your site, we will even reinstall everything for you!

There's even some fast action bonuses - If you use the 'buy it now' feature, not only will you get all the above, but an automated approval script AND an article submission script, that runs from your site and allows you to submit your articles to hundreds of other article directories all at one time. The automated approval script is setup to AUTOMATICALLY approve all submissions to your directory. This can save you literally hundreds of hours work with a busy article directory (just ask any article directory owner!). The article submission script runs from the website, and will obtain a current list of all sites that have been submitted to it's list. At the last count there were over 530 sites!

Go and have a look now!

Text Link Ads Review

Monday, September 18, 2006

Text Link Ads is a service for matching up website owners offering advertising space and advertisers wanting to buy advertising space, a bit like a dating service really!

The website is very straightforward to use - as an advertiser or as a publisher:

Advertisers: Search by keyword or category for the suitable sites. Alternatively, you can request a free custom proposal - just give your website address, monthly budget and an explanation of what you're after, and you'll be sent back suitable suggestions. Full information is provided on each site (number of links available, popularity, price, number of pages where your link will appear, description and Alexa Rank). The price you pay is a flat rate for 30 days so you needn't worry about running out of cost-per-click budget. Furthermore, the links are static links on the target website which are search engine and website visitor friendly.

Publishers: As long as your site supports a server-side technology i.e. your pages aren't just html files, you'll be able to join the Text Link Ads program. Just complete the form for review which includes your URL, site title, short site description, keywords, whether you'll display the ads sitewide or on one page, the number of pages if the ads are to be sitewide and how many ad spots you'll provide (4, 6, 8 or 10). Once you have been approved, you are given simple instructions on how to integrate the Text Link Ads script with your site. Payment is either by cheque or PayPal and is paid at the beginning of each month. Text Link Ads choose the price of your links, starting at $15 per 30 days, and take a 50% commission.

If you signup through the following link as an advertiser, there's a special offer of $100 in free links.

Make and print your own posters

Friday, September 15, 2006

Thanks to a post on the Money Saving Expert Forums (hint: sign up to the newsletter whilst you are there), I've found a fantastic new way to decorate my walls.

The Rasterbator (don't let the name put you off!) allows you to make any digital image into a huge rasterized picture upto 20 metres square.

There is a choice of downloading the software or doing it online - I tried it online and found it very easy to use, and you end up with a PDF image made up of all the separate images you need to print. You get a choice of image size, dot size, colours and whether you want extra margins printed to help you match it all up.

How cool is that?

The Death of AdSense?

Google AdSense is a form of contextual advertising. Website owners put AdSense ads on their site, Google detects what the site content is and sends relevant ads to the site and the website owner earns a portion of the advertising revenue.

There are a multitude of products available on the Internet to help you increase your Google AdSense income, from templates to advice packages to ready made websites. BUT as happens with all money-making opportunities, the market becomes saturated, and Google changes it's rules. The combination of these factors means that firstly it becomes harder to make your site noticed and secondly, Google didn't like all the duplicate sites springing up or the sites with low quality content intended just to bring in some money.

They changed the rules for AdWords publishers - allowing them to put in different bid prices for ads which appear on other websites and ads which appear after a search. The net result of this is that AdSense income is not as great as it used to be and you can't rely just on AdSense income from your website.

I've just read the first part of a free ebook report, that explains the above in more detail and suggest what you need to do to make money online. Amazingly, it doesn't try to sell you anything - why not give it a quick read, it only takes a few minutes?

Where does idiocy stop?

Tuesday, September 12, 2006

I subscribe to very few online newsletters as mostly they tend to be thinly disguised sales letters. However, there is one, written by a successful Internet Marketer that I look forward to for his commonsense on writing and promoting websites.

In his last newsletter, he reprinted part of an e-mail sent to him by a subscriber and blanked out the domain name referred to and the name of the person who sent him the e-mail by replacing these details with a number of X's.

This to me indicated that the real details were masked. However, it seems that some people failed to grasp this concept and he had to issue an apology:

"In one of my articles, I used Xs to hide the real domain name. Well, it seems that in one case, the XXX domain actually pointed to a real site, and as you can imagine, the content wasn't for a family audience. If you did go to those URLs, I'm sorry. It was an honest mistake."

If you are a sensible person, don't take everything literally, are capable of independent thought and don't need your hand holding all the time, perhaps you too could benefit - see http://ezseonews.com/.

Search engine optimisation advice for beginners

Search engine optimisation is a minefield. Someone will tell you one thing, someone else another.

The over-riding message is to read and apply the webmaster advice that the different search engines offer and most importantly - make your website for VISITORS.

There's nothing worse than trying to read an article that has been written for the search engines - it makes little sense to the human eye and makes you pick a different website quick.

I like reading 'Ask Kalena' for a common sense approach - as well as saying what I've said above, her blog answers beginner SEO questions, recent topics have included "Should I set up a forum on my site for SEO purposes?" and "Why does our site show different Google ranks in different locations?"
