If you currently own a phpBB discussion board and monetize it with AdSense or YPN, you may be earning a little bit of money. However, there is a new tool called Forum AdManager which enables you to earn far more than you would from AdSense alone. If you've not got as far as showing ads on your site, then why not try Forum AdManager and see what you can earn?
In a nutshell, Forum AdManager creates 'ad slots' on every page which you can sell to advertisers. This obviously means you have to have some traffic to your site in order to sell the spaces, but even if you don't currently have many visitors, you can set the ad slots to display AdSense, YPN or your choice of affiliate ads when unsold...a win-win situation.
The software tool fully automates the process of payment, ad submission and showing the rights ads in the right places for the right amount of time - you just have to login to PayPal to pick up your commission.
Forum AdManager is a free download and can be installed for you for free so you could have it up and running in less than five minutes. ..you could be earning a lot more than you presently do with AdSense alone.

Get Keywords is my latest project. It's a site that gives you suggestions on different niche and keyword ideas, either for your latest AdSense site or for an Internet marketing campaign (or for anything else you can use it for!).
For every word, there's the daily search count in both Overture and Wordtracker and different search terms to consider.
If you find a keyword you like, just click the 'bookmark' icon in the left hand menu and if you want to receive an e-mail everytime a new post is made to the site, click the 'subscribe' by e-mail link.

There's loads of advice on how to legitimately increase your AdSense click through rates on the Internet, and most of this tells you to try and integrate your ads as much as possible into the rest of your site.
This means matching the colours, font size, font family and line height.
The colours can be controlled through the AdSense code generator, but the font size, typeface and line-height can only be changed by Google themselves.
However, you can change the rest of your site to match the AdSense code through the use of stylesheets:
font-family - arial,sans-serif
font-size - 11px
line-height - 13px

When building a new site, it's quite common to make a few tweaks, save and upload the page, and load it into your browser to see what your changes look like 'live'. This process can be repeated many times.
Google AdSense rules (also referred to as TOS - terms of service) say that you can only put AdSense code onto pages that are launched and functioning. In other words, not on test pages or those with 'under construction' on them. In addition to making repeat requests from the AdSense server, you also run the risk of accidentally clicking on the ads.
However, it's useful to see the AdSense code to keep track of the overall picture. So what can you do?
Easy - make two simple changes to the AdSense code whilst you're finishing the page and then reverse the changes once the page is live. The second line of AdSense code normally looks like:
google_ad_client = "pub-your 16 digit id here";
But change it to:
google_adtest = "on";
google_ad_client = "ca-test";
//google_ad_client = "pub-your 16 digit id here";
Once you're done, just change it back to the original - simple!

Google AdSense is a form of contextual advertising. Website owners put AdSense ads on their site, Google detects what the site content is and sends relevant ads to the site and the website owner earns a portion of the advertising revenue.
There are a multitude of products available on the Internet to help you increase your Google AdSense income, from templates to advice packages to ready made websites. BUT as happens with all money-making opportunities, the market becomes saturated, and Google changes it's rules. The combination of these factors means that firstly it becomes harder to make your site noticed and secondly, Google didn't like all the duplicate sites springing up or the sites with low quality content intended just to bring in some money.
They changed the rules for AdWords publishers - allowing them to put in different bid prices for ads which appear on other websites and ads which appear after a search. The net result of this is that AdSense income is not as great as it used to be and you can't rely just on AdSense income from your website.
I've just read the first part of a free ebook report, that explains the above in more detail and suggest what you need to do to make money online. Amazingly, it doesn't try to sell you anything - why not give it a quick read, it only takes a few minutes?

If you have a website, you should consider using Google AdSense to generate revenue. It won't suit all webmasters - if LittleFish Web Design used them, we could be doing ourself out of business! If you haven't already signed up, use the button in the left hand menu.
To help you understand how to maximise your AdSense revenue, we've compiled a quick list of various e-books and software that can help:

A quick search on eBay for the term 'AdSense' brings back varying results, including highly optimised websites for high paying keywords. Looking closer, most of these websites are for medical conditions, and this is where I have a problem.
People with rare medical conditions use the Internet for finding information about their health, and I believe it's unethical to have keyword-stuffed sites purely with the intention of making money from these people. On the plus side, there will be so many of these sites that the revenue share will be very low.
For people who own medical websites with good intentions, it's equally frustrating for them that Google will not allow you to filter out categories or keywords from the AdSense listing. It must be very frustrating having to remove "miracle cure" listings one by one.
